Welcome to Ken's Corner
Welcome to the first installment of Ken’s Corner, an ongoing column where I’ll be helping the novice and low-use computer owner figure out what a computer does, what all those technical terms mean, and how you work some of the programs and applications you have on your system. I’ll try to stay as non-technical as I can but still get you the complete answer to your questions.
When I say your questions, I mean exactly that. There are some topics I’ll definitely cover in the weeks ahead, but if there’s a question you have, I’ll be more than happy to help. As always, if I don’t know the answer, I’ll find someone who can so we can both learn something. Remember, the only foolish question is the one you don’t ask.
Before I delve into the answers to your questions though, I want to talk about the questions I won’t answer. Don’t ask me about my opinion on something, because what’s right for me may not be right for you. I won’t tell you which computer brand is better or whether Windows is a better operating system than Mac since those are matters of personal preference and not necessarily cold hard facts.
Try to keep your questions computer-related. I might drop hints on my ideas on sports teams and sports in general, but that’s not what this column is for. I’m here to help you get the most out of your computer or to help you find out what you need if you’re thinking about buying a new one.
