Giving Back to Those Who Serve – Connecting Point Computer Center’s Commitment to Community
As the cold winds of winter settle over the Illinois Valley, the spirit of giving shines brightly. Once again, Connecting Point Computer Center (CPCC) is proud to support its local community by hosting its February Jean Day Donation Drive to benefit the Voluntary Action Center (VAC). This thoughtful initiative invites CPCC employees to make a simple yet powerful contribution to help the underserved in the Illinois Valley.
Supporting the Voluntary Action Center (VAC)
The Voluntary Action Center, located in LaSalle, Illinois, has been a pillar of support in the region for over 50 years, providing crucial services that improve the quality of life for individuals and families in need. From providing transportation to seniors and low-income individuals to offering food and wellness services, the VAC strives to ensure that no one in the Illinois Valley is left behind. Their programs are designed to empower individuals to regain their independence and improve their overall well-being.
Key Services of the Voluntary Action Center:

Connecting Point's Jean Day Tradition
At Connecting Point Computer Center, giving back to the community is at the heart of everything they do. Each month, CPCC hosts its popular Jean Day event, where employees can contribute a monetary donation in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. This fun and informal event has proven to be an effective way to engage staff while raising funds for a good cause.
By donating in-store CPCC employees can show their support for the Voluntary Action Center and its mission to help those in need. Every dollar raised directly benefits the VAC’s ongoing efforts to support the local community.
How You Can Help
You don’t have to wait for a special event to give back! Donations are always welcomed by the Voluntary Action Center. Here’s how you can contribute:
- Visit VAC in Person: Drop by the center to make a direct donation and support their programs.
- Donate Online: If you can’t visit in person, you can easily make an online donation through VAC’s website.
- Spread the Word: Share the news and encourage friends, family, and colleagues to participate. The more people involved, the greater the impact on families and individuals in need.
Why This Effort Matters
As winter continues to grip the Illinois Valley, the demand for community services increases. The Voluntary Action Center works tirelessly to ensure that the most vulnerable members of the community receive the help they need. From transportation services to emergency food and housing assistance, every contribution helps make a significant difference in the lives of local families.
Our participation in Jean Day can help stock the VAC’s food pantry, fund their outreach programs, and provide life-changing support to those facing hardship. Whether your donation is large or small, it all adds up to create a lasting impact.
