November's Jean Day Donation recipient is the IV Food Pantry.
The Illinois Valley Food Pantry was established in October 1982, a time marked by worsening economic conditions that left many individuals unemployed and faced with lengthy waiting periods to qualify for unemployment or public aid.
Today, the pantry serves approximately 750 families across 9 cities in LaSalle County, providing vital food assistance through a range of programs focused on nourishment and nutrition. Their primary objective is to support individuals navigating emergencies such as unemployment, insufficient income, depleted food stamps or public aid, and the strain of managing family resources due to illness or old age. By helping clients stretch their food budget, they empower them to allocate their limited resources towards essential bills and necessary medications.
The Illinois Valley Food Pantry is committed to equal assistance and rejects any form of discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, disability, physical condition, developmental disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.
